CES 2026: Meet Clicks Communicator, A Keyboard Phone Inspired By BlackBerry

Clicks has announced the Communicator, an Android smartphone with a physical keyboard designed to revive the spirit of classic BlackBerry devices in 2026. Created by the same company responsible for the Clicks Keyboard accessory for the iPhone (that even has some interesting rivals), the Cproduct targets users who value focused communication and productivity over constant entertainment and screen immersion.

Instead, Clicks Communicator is not competing with mainstream smartphones; it’s being framed as one of those secondary devices. It aims to keep you connected but by avoiding the most modern causes of distraction in mobile use: infinite notifications, short-form videos, and social media feeds. It comes with a full QWERTY physical keyboard and a deliberately minimalist software experience.

The device comes with Android 16 installed, alongside a custom launcher that puts communication and work-related apps front and center. That means Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, and Gmail all have pride of place, while extraneous visual clutter is kept to a minimum. It’s an approach that extends Clicks’ overall thrust: to reposition the smartphone as a tool rather than a constant distraction.

Hardware-wise, the Communicator provides a good and feature-rich setup: it has a USB-C port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a 4,000 mAh battery for extended daily use. It also comes with a relatively generous storage capacity of 256 GB of internal memory, expandable via microSD cards up to 2 TB-an increasingly rare feature in modern smartphones.

It is designed to only meet everyday needs rather than go shoulder-to-shoulder against the photography flagship devices. It has a 50 MP rear camera and a 24 MP front-facing camera, providing adequate image quality for daily photos and clear video calls. This aligns with the device’s emphasis on communication, particularly for professional use.

Connectivity is another strong point. The Clicks Communicator supports global 5G and LTE networks and includes both a physical SIM tray and eSIM compatibility, making it suitable for international travel and flexible carrier use. A notable additional feature is the Prompt Key, a dedicated side button that enables instant voice dictation for composing messages quickly and efficiently.

The Clicks Communicator is scheduled to debut at CES 2026, starting on January 6 in Las Vegas. It will initially launch in the United States in three color options—Smoke, Clover, and Onyx—with a suggested retail price of $499. However, customers who pre-register before February 27 and place a $199 deposit can secure the device at a discounted price of $399.
