Also known as Chocolate Pudding Cake, this old-fashioned dessert creates a rich chocolate cake on top and a warm fudge pudding underneath.
❤️WHY YOU WILL LOVE CHOCOLATE COBBLER
If you love chocolate and are a fan of cobbler, this is the dessert for you! It’s easy to make, comes together quickly, and is delicious. It’s made in an 8X8, so it’s perfect for a small gathering or when you just want something sweet. You can add ice cream, chocolate syrup, and a cherry, and it’s like a hot fudge cake! Some people call this a Chocolate Pudding Cake, but either way.. it’s a HIT!
This cobbler is made a little differently; you use hot water, but that’s an old-fashioned way, and it’s delicious. We make our Cinnamon Pecan Cobbler the same way and it has wonderful reviews.
Cobbler Brings Back Memories…
When we were small kids and growing up on the farm, Mom would take us on a “safari” to go pick blackberries and we would make a delicious cobbler. Such simple times that created some of our best memories. Preserving traditions and creating a simple life are things we strive for in every issue of Front Porch Life Magazine. Read more here.
SWAPS
We make this with evaporated milk, but you can use regular milk. We love this cobbler topped with ice cream but you can always use whipped cream.
WHAT DOES THE HOT WATER DO?
It blooms the cocoa powder, which gives this cobbler a really deep chocolate flavor. It is creates the chocolate sauce that makes this cobbler so good! That will sink to the bottom of the dish and it’s so good with the ice cream!
